Zaha Hadid – World Architecture
The world famous, London-based and so far the only female Pritzker Prize laureate, Zaha Hadid is on display throughout the summer at the Danish national architecture center in Copenhagen.
Known for her sensual, expressive architectural language and experimental, sophisticated universe, Zaha Hadid excels widely within the discipline of architecture all over the northern hemisphere, from urban planning and building design to furniture, cars as well as product design.
The exhibition at the Danish Architecture Centre is Zaha Hadid’s first solo exhibition in Scandinavia. Here a world of towers, floating shells, selected projects and designer objects will showcase how Zaha Hadid’s spectacular buildings and designs arise out of a progressive digital and geometric universe.
During the exhibition period there will be a number of talks and lectures. Keep up to date via www.dac.dk.
Zaha Hadid Architect’s work includes: the MAXXI Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome (2010), Guangzhou Opera House (2010), the BMW Central Building in Leipzig (2005), London Aquatic Centre (2012), Riverside Museum in Glasgow Scotland (2011) and the extension to the museum Ordrupgaard (2005), situated north of Copenhagen (2005) – a visit worth outside of the capital if you are in town for the exhibition.
