Palau De La Mar
The Hotel Palau de la Mar (Palace of the Sea) is housed in a converted 19th century palace in the center of the old city. Interior designers Isabel Lopez and Sandra Tarruella have created an elegant and modern environment, combining art and design.
The grand double staircase in the lobby has been restored, accentuating the building’s original grandeur, and the entire interior painted white and decorated with abstract artwork.
A minimalistic extension in the back provides additional guestrooms. The courtyard garden is shaded by a sail-like canvas roof.
All the guests share the calm outdoor space as well as two salons, a bibliotèque, and the cosmopolitan Ampar restaurant that serves a range of local dishes.
A small fitness center includes a sauna, Turkish bath and a large Jacuzzi.
The spacious rooms, with dark woods and leather furniture, feature plasma TVs, free ADSL Internet access, wireless phones, high capacity safe box, and a complimentary minibar.
